Recipe: Perfect Methi dal

Methi dal. Here is One more way of combining methi with dal. since dal is a staple at home so I make variety of dal/lentils, so that we don't get bored with them. Sometimes I also add greens like spinach, fenugreek and amaranth to the yellow dal. Methi Dal / Daal is a lentil curry prepared with single lentil or combination of lentils and methi (fenugreek leaves).

Ingredients of Methi dal

1. It's 1 cup of tuvar dal.
2. It's 1 tbsp of Oil.
3. Prepare 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.
4. You need 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
5. Prepare 5-6 of Curry leaves.
6. You need Pinch of asafoetida.
7. You need to taste of red chilli powder.
8. You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
9. Prepare 1 tsp of Dhania(coriander) powder.
10. You need to taste of Salt.
11. Prepare 4 tbsp of Sugar.
12. Prepare 3 of Kokam phool.
13. Prepare 6-8 of Peanuts.
14. You need 3 tsp of Coriander leaves for garnishing.

Serve with rice or roti / chapati. with step by step pictures. Heat oil in a pan and add in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and dry red chillies. Wait for the mustard seeds to splutter.
