- You need of To make Podi masala we need:-.
- You need 15-20 of Dry red chillies.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of white Sesame seeds.
- You need 2 tsp of oil.
- It's 1/4 cup (50ml cup) of urad dal.
- You need 1/4 cup of chana dal.
- It's 1 tbsp of mustard seeds.
- You need 8-10 of curry leaves.
- It's 1 tsp of Asafoetida or hing.
- You need to taste of Salt.

Masala Rava Idlis instructions
- In a mixing bowl take Semolina or Rava,add curd and salt.mix well.siak for 30 min.In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil,add mustard seeds, urad dal,chopped green chillies, chopped cashews and curry leaves.saute well.Add this Tempering to the batter.Add water as required to adjust the idli batter consistency.Mix and beat nicely..
- Grease the idli mould with oil.Add 1 tsp Baking powder to idli batter just before Cooking idlis.mix well.Fill idli mould with batter upto 3/4 of the mould.keep the steamer ready,steam IDLIS for 7_8 mins.check with a tooth pick.cool the IDLIS and demould..
- To maje pidi masala in a quantity,Heat a pan and Dry roast Dry red chillies for 3_4 min,take it out in a Plate.In the same pan dryroast Sesame seeds for 3_4 mins,take out in the same plate.Heat 1 tsp oil in that pan, add chana dal,urad dal,roast for4_5 mins.Take out in the plate Heat 1 tsp oil in the same pan, add mustard seeds,curry leaves and bing.saute till all mustard seeds splutter..
- Add to roasted Dal mixture,add salt,mix well Let it cool.Grind the mixture into fine Podi powder..
- To maje the masala gravy for IDLIS, Heat 2 tbsp butter,add chopped onion(keep aside 1_2 tbsp for garnishing),Saute till it becomes translucent.Add green chillies and garlic paste.Stirr well and cook for 1_2 mins..
- Now add chopped tomatoes and salt.cook until it becomes mushy.Add 2 tbsp PODI masala.mix well,cook fir 1_2 mins.Add 100 ml water.Add 1 tbsp fresh Coriander.Mix well..
- Add IDLIS in the gravy and coat on both sides.serve hot.Garnish with chopped onion and coriander leaves..
